I am a sculptor and this website is an introduction to my current and past work. It includes recent abstract relief sculptures made in Italy, figurative work made in my Gloucestershire studio and examples of commissioned work.

I am a ‘Clay man’ and have been modelling, moulding and baking clay professionally since 1972. My early work was full of humour and fantasy and influential in the emergence of figurative ceramics in the 1970s. As my modelling skills developed and with the influence of frequent trips to India my work became more poetical and surreal.

In recent years I have specialised in bas relief, which is part sculpture and part picturemaking. This has born fruit in the current work which is unlike anything that I’ve done before.
I am as excited by these brightly coloured abstract forms as when I first discovered clay 35 years ago.

I have varied and extensive teaching experience and am available to teach privately and institutionally. I can also offer a variety of interesting slide shows and workshops.
